We begin a farewell serenade to summer. A fine time, but time for a change!

The author working a pool in the Schuylkill on a fine summer morning.

And so, as we enter the end of August, the summer's waning days begin. The heat will struggle to stay, but hopefully by mid to late September; we'll experience that old familiar chill in the air, the visible breath I long to see. I hold nothing against the summer season; it offers respite from the season before, as does every season. It allows for more evenings on the deck, it gives good ale the chance to be even more refreshing, and of course the bass fishing can be a blast! We had our first vacation as a family, a weekend in Ocean City MD, it could not have been without summer. But I say good bye to summer much easier than most. I welcome the fall. The Blog has officially begun; the autumn marks its inception, enjoy!

  1. I fully agree with the excitement of fall. Autumn is quite possibly my favorite time of year. As a construction worker my job is probably one of the most barbaric ways to make a living but when the cool mornings and comfortable afternoons come it makes it many times more barable. Other then the whole work thing, the fall brings some thing that other seasons don't have. My favorite part is definitely the beautiful colors that nature shows off for all of us to enjoy along with the great weather to allow us to savor the beauty quite comfortably. Among the previously mentioned we have pumpkin flavored food and drink and the following holidays to gather and enjoy our friends and families. There are many more smaller details as to why I love Fall but I think these are the most common for the majority to enjoy. I welcome Autumn with open arms and wish it would stay just a little longer this year.

  2. As seasons come and go so quickly in our hectic lives, I feel the necessity of embraces each season and the grandeur that it brings. None the less, I savor the autumn like none other, there is a brisk liveliness about it. It is a great time for hiking and campfires, and for me serves as a time of peaceful reflection. Yes, the autumn is a beautiful time of the year.
